Rick W. Reffke

Rick Reffke, age 42, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008. He was born in Appleton on September 11, 1965, son of the late Ione (Kearn) Reffke and William F. Reffke. Rick graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1983 and served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1983 until 1987. In 1996, he married the former Christine Elsner at the Valley Wedding Chapel in Kimberly. Rick worked at Fox River Paper / Neenah Paper for the past ten years, and at Brillion Iron Works for eight years, when he first returned from military service.

Rick enjoyed spending time with his wife Christine and his children Mariah, and twins Devon and Ashton. Rick was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling with Devon, his brothers Jim and Dean, his nephew Will, and his best friend Dan Rooney.

He is survived by his wife: Christine Reffke; three children: Mariah, Devon, and Ashton Reffke; three brothers: Jim (Cindy) Reffke, Tim (Marie) Reffke, and Dean Reffke; a sister: Vicky Reffke; his father: Bill (Jane) Reffke; a brother-in-law: Jim (Jodi) Elsner; and by Christine's parents Alice and Bob Elsner. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ione Reffke.

Funeral services for Rick will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the services. Rick will be honored with complete military rites at the conclusion of the services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to benefit Rick's children.
