HOEFLER, RICK J.
Rick Hoefler, of Appleton, age 51, lost his battle on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 after trying to recover from his injuries. He was born on March 3, 1958 in Appleton, the son of Edwin, Sr. and Elaine (Derks) Hoefler. Rick graduated from Appleton East High School and then served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He ended his military service in the National Guard. Rick was employed for 25 years at Appleton Papers. He was adventurous and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed NASCAR, the Packers, traveling and his Harley. Everyone he met loved him and he will be missed by all.
Rick is survived by his mother: Elaine (Daniel) Stevenson, Appleton; children: Eric, Amber and Erin Hoefler, Menasha; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Thomas (Carly) Stevenson, Appleton; Dawn (Paul) Ebben, Hortonville; Jeff (Laura) Stevenson, Sherwood; Carrie Ayala, Kimberly; Lisa (Nick) Bongean, Menasha; Ed (Connie) Hoefler, Jr.; Little Chute; Bradley (Tina) Hoefler, Little Chute and Michael (Robin) Hoefler, Combined Locks and his step-mother: Theresa Hoefler, Little Chute. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Edwin Hoefler, Sr.
The funeral service for Rick will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
