Richard “Dick” Wolff made his way to heaven on the evening of May 3, 2025 after a short stay in the hospital.
Richard, the son of Harold and Sadie Wolff, was born on January 14, 1930. A life-long resident of Menasha, he was a 1948 graduate of Menasha High School following an outstanding athletic career in basketball and track–reaching the state level in both sports. After his graduation, Richard served his country in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Europe post-WWII. He found the love of his life, meeting and marrying Mary Konetzke in September, 1954. They were blessed with eight children and an amazing 65 years of marriage, until her passing in 2018.
After retiring from Kimberly-Clark, he remained active working as a cleaner and cutting grass for St. John’s Cemetery many years into retirement. Anyone who knew Dick easily saw his love for life. He enjoyed weekends at the cabin in Dunbar–one he built with his parents. He also enjoyed playing cribbage, spending time with his special friends Dee, Maynard and Rufus, and countless others he came into contact with. His smile was infectious, and it brought a smile to anyone he knew for a long time or just met for the first time. That is how many will remember him. He will be dearly missed.
Richard is survived by his children Terry (Jane) Wolff, Kathy (Joe) Heil, Sharon (Terry) Riegert, Laurie (special friend Kevin) DeLeeuw, Rich (Janine) Wolff, Joanne, Patrick (Lori) Wolff, and Susan (Tyrone) Campbell. He is further survived by a sister, Joan “Putsie” (Lyman) Depner, as well as 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 15th at St. John the Baptist Church, 516 DePere St. Menasha. Visitation time will be 9:00-11:00 AM. The funeral Mass will start at 11:00. Military Honors will take place immediately after the service before burial. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Menasha.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Theda-Clark Hospital for making Dad’s last days peaceful.
It’s time to dance with mom again.
She has been waiting a long time for you dad.
We will continue on and make you both proud.
Terry, Kathy, Sharon, Laurie, Rich, Joanne, Pat and Susan.
