Richard C. Otto
Richard C. Otto, 82, of Appleton passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Oakridge Gardens. Richard was born on May 5, 1928 to Edwin and Edith (Parker) Otto. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Richard married Delores on November 28, 1952. He spent most of his life in Appleton but he lived in California from 1966-1973. Richard worked on the first Space lab when he worked for McDonnell Douglas, and he retired from Appleton Machine in 1991. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his wife and said his greatest accomplishment in his life were his five children. Richard was a member of the Johnston-Blessman American Legion Post #38.
Richard is survived by five children; Debra and Larry Stinemates, Appleton, Gregory and Nancy (Mueller) Otto, Appleton, Vicky and Steve Tremmel, Navarino, Colonel Ricky and Kelley (Schrimpf) Otto, Sparta, Julie and Wade Morschauser, Fond du Lac, 12 grandchildren; Richard, Jon, Michael, Amber, Travis, Alex, BreAnna, Kayley, Delaney, Jade, Jana, Jami, 2 great grandchildren, a brother Gary (Millie) Otto, a sister Marilyn Otto, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Delores.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI COUNTY CHAPEL (3212 S. Oneida St.). A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice and the nursing staff at Oakridge Gardens for all their help in this difficult time.
