Rev. Richard C. Mohl

April 19, 1937 — April 9, 2023

Rev. Richard Carl Mohl was peacefully called home to his Father in Heaven on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. He was born April 19, 1937 and raised in Lost Nation IA, and Davenport IA. He graduated from Augustana College, Rock Island IL, and was ordained as a Lutheran Minister. He served as Pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells WI, and St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Neenah WI. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alva and Ruth Mohl, wives Creta Gail Eden, Kay Mohl, Nita Jones, brother Roger Mohl, brother in law Robert (Bob) Rasmussen, and his granddaughter Elizabeth Mohl.

Richard is survived by his sister Marilyn Rasmussen, sister in law Ghislaine Rimmen-Mohl, children Carl (Suzanne) Mohl, Christopher (Dawn) Mohl, Dawn Conant, Donna Duarte, Lorrie Wood, Dean (Brenda) Mohl, Marie (Bill) Wheeler, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Although his stroke in 2008 took his ability to communicate, it never took his mind. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and caregivers. Ending this tribute to our father with the same words he always ended our visits with, “Yup, Yup” “Beautiful”, “Thank you”, “I love you”.

Richard will be laid to rest next to his parents at Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport IA, with a private family service.

Our family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Healthcare professionals and facilities that cared for Richard with quality and compassion; Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home, St. Paul's Elder Care, and Compassus (Hospice).
