The Lord in his wisdom took Rebecca (Becky) Kunde home to heaven on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, after a long, hard fought battle against dementia.
Becky was born on October 10, 1967, in Sioux Falls, SD. She was baptized as a child of God on November 5, 1967, in Raymond, SD, and later confirmed on April 25, 1982, at Bethel Church in Menasha, WI.
She met her husband Joe, working together in the campus library, while earning her degree from UW Oshkosh. They were married on June 22, 1991, in Menasha, WI. They shared a love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping as their favorite activity for the entire 32 years of marriage. Becky also loved gardening and taking care of many family pets.
Becky had a passion to teach and influence young lives. This led her to a rewarding career as an elementary teacher for 28 years, primarily with the Menasha School District which also allowed her to spend special time with her own children during the summer months.
Becky is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, Joe, along with their children Allison, Aaron (fiancé Lindsey Osborn) and Ben, parents Rev. Donald and JoAnn Ninmer, brother Jon Ninmer (Erin), mother-in-law Jean Kunde, sister-in-law Chris Kalupa (John), sister-in-law Deb Norton (Tim), along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and dearly loved friends.
Becky was preceded in death by her father-in-law Richard Kunde, her grandparents, and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at St. Peter Lutheran Church (N2740 N. French Road, Appleton, WI 54913), from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A worship service will follow to honor her life and celebrate her entering the eternal kingdom of God.
