Raymond “Ramie” George Granger, age 80 of Kaukauna, WI passed away on May 14, 2025. He was born to Elmer and Josephine (Nushart) Granger on November 19, 1944 in Kaukauna, WI. After graduating from Kaukauna High School with the class of ’63, he went on to work a number of jobs, but none more prominent than his career as an ironworker. He retired from the Local 8 after many years of faithful service to the Union. Ray met the love of his life, Mary Margaret Conrad, and they were married in September of 1971. Together, they raised two wonderful children.

Ray embodied the essence of a hard worker, but a truly loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed attending as many of his kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events as he could. He was also a Wisconsin sports fan through and through, always cheering on the Kaukauna Ghosts, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Green Bay Packers. Ray was a Jack of many trades and a master in his areas of expertise. In his free time, you could often find him woodworking – carving, sawing, sanding, or varnishing something he was working on. Ray was a man of faith and knew that his savior would find a place for him in the kingdom of heaven. More than anything, though, Ray loved his family, cherishing every moment he could spend with his wife, his kids, his grandkids, and anyone else who stopped by his home.

Ray will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Margaret Granger; his children, Scott and Mike (Julie); his grandchildren, Lauren, Ethan, and Waylon; his siblings, Robert Granger and Sue Desotell; his siblings-in-law, Colleen Granger and Mary Ann Conrad; his Godchildren, Greg Granger and Amy Seager; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

At the gates of heaven, Ray is welcomed and embraced by his dearly departed parents, Elmer and Josephine Granger; his parents-in-law, Marie and Wenzel Conrad; his brother, Ron Granger; his siblings-in-law, Carol Granger, Dan Desotell, and Karl Conrad; and his Godchild, Tom Ashauer.

A memorial visitation will be held for Ray from 8:30 – 10:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish – St. Mary’s Site, 119 W 7th St, Kaukauna, WI 54130 with a mass to follow at 10:00 AM. Ray will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Kaukauna, WI. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna or to the American Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Ray.

Ray’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, clergy, and other supporting staff at St. Paul Elder Services for your care, compassion, and expertise during Ray’s time of need. We truly can’t express how much your services were appreciated.
