Randy Keith Cobb, age 63 passed away peacefully in Oshkosh, WI. He was born to the late George and June (Rieben) Cobb on June 20, 1962 in Norfolk, VA, when it was still the commonwealth. Randy grew up in a large family and traveled a lot as a child because of his father in the military. After graduating from Menasha High School with the class of ’81, he went on to train in culinary school, making a career out of his cooking. Randy was a foodie and had a lifelong love and passion for delicious dishes. Randy met Kim Kusserow at Mihm’s Diner in 1980 and they were married in 1993. And while their marriage may have ended, they had and raised two wonderful children together.
Randy was first and foremost an incredibly social person. He seemed to remember everyone’s face and name and knew everything about you from the last time talking to them. As a funny and charming man to his friends and neighbors, Randy was very easy to talk to and be friends with. In Randy’s free time, just like his father, he enjoyed collecting bottles’ worth of coins, asking people on many occasion to read the year of a coin for him. He was also a cribbage wiz and would get together with friends as often as he could to play a few rounds. As the son of a military man and, himself a cook, Randy knew how to stretch a dollar and find a deal. He was very thrifty and found value in even the most unexpected things and places. If you knew Randy, you’d know he loved the color purple and tried to implement it into everything he owned somehow. Faith was also very important to Randy. While he never really settled down to one church or denomination, he truly believed in God and had deep love for all of creation. More than anything, though, Randy loved his family and cherished every moment he could spend with his children and grandchildren.
Randy will be deeply missed by his children, Elizabeth Cobb and Christopher Cobb; his 2 grandchildren; his sisters, Marion Wanty and Rachel Anderson; his lifelong friend, Thomas Aldrich; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Roy Cobb, Russell Cobb, Rebecca Jackson, Jennifer Rieben, and Nancy Peterson; his closest cousin, Jennifer; and his lifelong family friend, Nancy.
A memorial visitation will be held for Randy from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. Randy will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
Randy’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, doctors, the care team, and other supporting staff at Mayberry Manor and Moments Hospice for all the care and compassion given to Randy in his time of need. He would likely add a thanks for putting up with him as well.
