Phyllis Seubert, age 78, died at her Appleton home on Monday, January 11, 2016. Phyllis was born December 28, 1937 and was a graduate of Marathon High School. On June 21, 1958, she married the love of her life, Harold Seubert at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the Marathon County town of Cassel. He preceded her in death in 1996. For many years, Phyllis was employed by Hoffer Glass in Appleton, and in fact, was the first woman to work in retail sales for Mr. Hoffer. Many will remember her love for cooking, baking, and being in the kitchen. She also loved time spent at the Rainbow Flowage with family and friends in the summer months.
Phyllis is survived by five sons: Jeff (Kari) Seubert of Appleton; Jay (Christine) Seubert of Appleton; Jan (Cindy) Seubert of Portage; Jerry (Lori) Seubert of Waukesha; and Jody (Ann) Seubert of Appleton. There are also fourteen grandchildren: Ashley (Josh) Bebeau, Brandon (Jessie) Seubert, Chase (Jessica) Seubert, Dylan (Kaylin) Seubert, Matt (Lori) Seubert, Jason Seubert, Danny Seubert, Travis (fiancée Mary) Seubert, Mitch (Hannah) Seubert, Aaron Seubert, Lauren Seubert, Ariana Seubert, Jaden Seubert, and Aubrey Seubert. The great-grandchildren are Elijah, Henry, Vivian, and Liam. Phyllis is also survived by a brother-in-law: Lloyd (Bea) Seubert of Appleton and a sister-in-law: Annamae Susor of Menasha.
The funeral liturgy for Phyllis will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 S. State Street in Appleton, with Fr. Bill Swichtenberg officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in Appleton. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the mass.
