Age 74, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2002 in Appleton. She was born on December 24, 1927 to the late Oren and Irene Wormwood (Boettcher). Phyllis graduated from Appleton West High School, Lawrence University and Columbia University. She shared her father’s interest in history as well as literature. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, a teacher at Seymour High School and worked at the New York Public Library System until she retired.
Survivors include an uncle, James Wormwood of Biddeford, Maine; cousins: John (Shirley) Boettcher of Appleton, Kathleen (Makoto) Honda of Thousand Oaks, CA, Patricia Alsurabi of Woodland Hills, CA, Mary Fast of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Joanna Jones of Trinidad, CO, Michael Ventresca of Newburyport, MA, and Mark Kittery of Maine, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at 11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ (1130 W. Marquette St.) with Pastor Tom Fritz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service also at church. Memorials may be directed to the church or the Community Foundation of Fox Valley Region.
