Peg O’ My Heart, My Peggy Ann Sangraw, age 64, died May 14, 2025, at ThedaCare Appleton. She was born on November 14, 1960, at Camp LeJeune, NC, to Valvin and Dorothy (Kilcourse) Mommaerts. When Peggy was 4 or 5, the family moved to Green Bay, and she spent her youth with her siblings. She learned her love of camping early in her life. Upon graduating from Preble High School in Green Bay, she began her health care career working in home care.

A lover of the outdoors, Peggy met the man who would truly become her soulmate, Patrick Sangraw, while the two were attending a bonfire. For Peggy, it was truly love at first site “I’m going to marry that guy,” For Patrick, he had a goal of not being married until the age of 27-a feat he didn’t achieve as they married on August 24, 1985, when Patrick was 26 and a half!

Peggy worked at ThedaCare for 34 years as a medical records analyst. It was a job she enjoyed, and was a place filled with challenges and great coworkers. Many of those coworkers became lifelong friends. In 2023, she retired and even then, sometimes those coworkers would call with work-related questions. They always said: “What would we do without Peg?”

Peggy loved to vacation in Florida, visiting family and was passionate about camping and anything outdoors. She and Patrick spent many summers at their campground in Door County. Family was everything for Peggy. She also enjoyed attending sporting events, and a Super Bowl adventure weekend was a highlight of every year. Peg was Irish, she and Patrick always took a vacation for St Patrick’s Day-usually it involved some Irish Fest or Ireland related shenanigans.

She is survived by her husband Patrick; siblings: Sandra Mommaerts, and Robert Splan; brother-in-law Roger Haberland; her nephew Tim Van Pay; great nephew Brett Van pay and best friend Karen Murto as well as other friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jean Haberland.

There will be a “Peggy-Palooza” scheduled for a later date, details will be available at wichmannfuneralhomes.com

Peggy’s family would like to extend thanks to the ICU staff at ThedaCare Appleton for their care and compassion.
