Paul Author Tilman, age 80, passed away on February 22 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Paul was born on June 28, 1943, in London, England, son of Albert and Queenie Tilman. Paul met his soon to be wife, Pat Boxall, while they both worked at Marfae in Leigh-on-sea. The two wed in Essex, England, on March 29, 1969. Pat and Paul shared 54 years of marriage and raised two sons together.
In 1980, Paul and his family moved to Rockland County, NY to pursue job opportunities. In 1997, the family moved again to Sherwood, WI, as Paul accepted a job at Presto, managing research and development in plastic production until he retired after 40 years in the plastics industry. Paul has over 70 patents under his name while working for multiple companies. Due to his job, Paul was able to travel throughout Europe and Asia and occasionally, Paul was able to bring Pat and their children along for adventures.
Paul will be remembered as a handy man, electrician, Inventor and Scout Leader. Upon moving to the US, Paul and his sons became active in the Boy Scouts and the Pearl River Gun club for target shooting. As members of the optimist club in Sherwood, Pat and Paul dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus to spread joy and give presents to local children for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife: Pat; and his two sons: Darren (Kris) and Andy. He was also a proud grandpa to Carly and Zoey.
The memorial service for Paul will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at ALL SAINTS EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 100 N. Drew Street in Appleton. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the time of service with interment and refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to local animal shelters are appreciated.
