Age 42, passed away in Kimberly on Tuesday, March 16, 2004. He was born in Appleton on December 30, 1961, son of Robert and Lena (Hakkert) Polakowski. On May 8, 1999, he married Lisa Julius at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Kimberly.
Paul enjoyed the outdoors. He always looked forward to Packer games, golfing, fishing and camping, but most of all, the times spent with his loving dog, P.J. Paul deeply cherished his nieces and nephews and they loved him just as much in return. He was known as “U.P.” (Uncle Paul), not only by his family, but also by all the neighborhood kids. He treasured many wonderful friendships and gave so freely of himself in all relationships. His life centered around his family and those he loved so dearly.
Paul is survived by his wife Lisa, parents: Bob and Lena Polakowski of Kimberly, brothers: John (Cary) Polakowski of Neenah, Tom Polakowski of Fond du Lac, Jim (Marta) Polakowski of Rockton, IL; sisters: Nancy (Jerry) Kobussen of Kaukauna, and Joan (Chris) Olsen of Combined Locks; mother and father-in-law: Richard and Mary Ann Julius of Neenah; brother-in-law, Steve (Candi) Julius of Larsen; nieces and nephews: Cyndi, Lori, Becki, Angie, Anthony, Amanda, Brian, Tim, Emily, Rachael, and Michelle; and P.J.
The funeral liturgy will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the liturgy. Burial will be at Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Paul’s name is being established.
