Appleton
Paul Clinton Chasteen, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Appleton, WI, on September 13, 2026, with loving family by his side.
Born on February 2, 1945, in Aurora, Illinois, Paul was the youngest of three boys born to Rev. Commodore Fields Chasteen and Delma Irene (Dixon) Chasteen. From a young age, Paul's charm and infectious enthusiasm made him a natural performer, setting the stage for a lifetime filled with friendships and cherished memories.
Paul's passion for entertainment led him to a successful career in radio at various radio stations including WIHN 96.7FM and WFON 107.1FM. He began that career in 1964 as a program director. His dedication and talent eventually led him into ownership and management roles where he mentored others and left a lasting mark on the industry.
Paul was also deeply involved in his communities, serving in various supportive and leadership roles with the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Boy Scouts of America, United Methodist Church of Fond du Lac, Co-founder of Walleye Weekend, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and more.
In 1972, Paul married the love of his life, Sonia Marie Ashley, in Sioux City, Iowa. They shared four daughters together. He found joy in life through simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, road trips, and spending time with friends and family.
Paul is survived by his loving family. Brother Ralph Chasteen (Carl "Bucky" Jones), Daughters: Marcy Sojka (Chris), Andre' Coleman (Brad), Shelly Lucas (Perry), and Brandy Chasteen (Dan De Zee). Grandchildren: Brad Kuske (Doreen), Sydney Clohessy (Tanner), Chase Anderson (Amy), Ian Anderson (Casie Berg), and Sylvia Collins. Great-grandchildren: Brianna Russell (Tanner), Avery Anderson, Carrah Clohessy, and Camryn Clohessy; and great great grandson Everest Russell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonia, and grandson Trevin Paul Collins.
His memory will be held in our hearts.
At Paul's request, there will be no service.
