Patricia Lynn Weyers

April 7, 1954 — April 16, 2022

Neenah

Patricia Lynn Weyers (Patty), age 68, Neenah, passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2022 at Froedtert Medical Center in Milwaukee, surrounded by her 3 daughters.  Patty fought leukemia bravely for 2.5 years and at the end she had no regrets in life and did everything she wanted to do. Patty was born at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, on April 7th, 1954 to the late Harold and Esther (Becher) Clegg.  After graduating from Hortonville High School, Patty left the family farm where she was raised and boldly started her new life.  Patty was a graduate of the McConnell School, Minneapolis, before she worked as a secretary in Chicago.  Patty said good-bye to her city life when she met and fell in love with the love of her life, the late Don Weyers. They united in marriage on June 12th, 1976 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church.  Patty & Don had 16 wonderful years together and were blessed with 3 daughters; they enjoyed many good times, whether it was at the cottage in Crandon, downhill skiing, or hosting a good old fashioned card party with their family and friends.

Besides her family, Patty's pride and joy was her home on the Wolf River in Fremont where she moved in 2004. Patty loved her pontoon boat and was a proud captain to many. Patty was a vibrant, energetic, and spunky lady who made new friends everywhere she went, while maintaining lifelong friendships with neighboring farm kids & school peers. Patty joined the US Postal Service and was delighted to be able to do what she loved for a living: walk!  Patty had to abruptly retire with the USPS after her leukemia diagnosis in 2019, however her coworkers honored her 24 years of service with an amazing retirement parade. Patty was lucky to find love again with Dr. Gerald Sampica, and they enjoyed 11 years together in Neenah. Gerald's wit mixed with Patty's personality created a lasting partnership in their later years, and included many adventures traveling and hosting football parties.

Patty is survived by her daughters: Sally (Brian) Rathsack, Hortonville, Molly (Paul) Demartini, Hidden Valley Lake, CA, Danielle (Dane) Nightingale, San Rafael, CA; 3 sisters, Nancy Willenkamp, Hortonville, Carol (Fran) Schmelzel, Hortonville, Janice (Ken) Ebben, Greenville; 4 brothers, Dennis (Kerry) Clegg, David Clegg, James Clegg, Kevin Clegg, all of Hortonville; 5 grandchildren, Ella (18), Harris (16), Miles (11), and Weston Rathsack (9), and Leo Nightingale (1); 4 sisters-in-law, Beverly Sommers, Mary Lou Murphy, Mary Weyers, Sharon Weyers; 1 brother-in-law, Arnold Weyers; and many other nieces, nephews, goddaughters, cousins, and dear friends.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband Don Weyers; mother and father-in-law, Clara & Bill Weyers; special friend, Dr. Gerald Sampica; 6 brothers-in-law, Ronnie Willenkamp, Chuck Weyers, John Weyers, Norb Weyers, James Sommers & Mike Murphy.

Funeral mass for Patty will be held on Friday April 29th, at 3PM at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville, with Fr. Phil Schoofs officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1PM until the time of service. Burial will be held at the Parish cemetery immediately following mass.

The family would like to thank Froedtert Medical College of Milwaukee, especially all the staff at The Center for Advanced Care, 9th Fl,  & her hematologist Dr. Mehdi Hamadani for their compassionate care; and a very special thank you to all the friends and family who supported, uplifted, and loved Patty along her difficult journey.

Mom, you had to be tough your whole life, you can now rest in peace with Dad and the family & friends who have gone before you.  Thank you for all the character, personality, & love you have given us.  We love you forever, your children and grandchildren.
