Patricia J. (Dupont) Vanden Boom left this world, entering into heavenly peace with her Lord and Savior and reuniting with the love of her life, Carl, on June 27, 2025. She was born on July 14, 1929, in Appleton, Wisconsin to Joseph and Agnes Dupont and was raised in Kimberly, attended Holy Name School, and graduated from Kimberly High School.
Pat married her high school sweetheart on January 2, 1952. They spent their first year of marriage at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas while Carl served in the Army. Upon returning home to Kimberly, with baby in tow, they built their first home and lovingly raised their six children. Work with Kimberly Clark moved them to Chicago for six years where they added a seventh child. Once again, they returned to Kimberly where they spent the rest of their lives.
Pat’s greatest joy was nurturing her children and enthusiastically opening her home to many friends and family as well as providing excellent management of the home with her creative touch. She was appreciated for her cooking and baking skills. Grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed her luscious chocolate chip cookies and countless other desserts and meals. Pat loved games! She had a reputation amongst our family and friends as a bit of a card shark and taught her grand and great grandchildren to play cards.
She enjoyed volunteering her services tutoring children at the local school, teaching religion classes to middle and high school students, and as a receptionist at Holy Spirit Church. Always a sports fan, she worked at the school concession stands during events and assisted the Ladies of Holy Name when needed. Pat and Carl also hosted a foreign exchange high school student from South Africa for two years.
Pat will be dearly missed by her seven children, Ann (Rob) Leibrock, Paula (Bill) Velander, Beth (Bob) Crawford, Matt (Amy) Vanden Boom, Mary (John) Barch, James Vanden Boom, and Kriston (Heather) Vanden Boom; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is also survived by her brother, Steve (Jackie) Dupont; and her sisters and brother in-law, Margie Dupont, Sue Dupont, and Robert Wahlers.
The souls waiting to greet her in heaven include her husband, Carl; twin daughters, Mary and Marie; parents Joseph and Agnes Dupont; siblings, Tom (Dorothy) Dupont, Mike Dupont, Jody DuPont, Susan DuPont, Mary Wahlers; father and mother in-law, Anton and Christine Vanden Boom; sisters and brother in-law, Joan Dupont, Rose and Sam Van Sambeek, Althea and Bob Valentyn, James and Gertie Vanden Boom, and Delphine and Joe Diermier.
Our sincere thanks to the staff at St Paul’s in Kaukauna. The entire team - from administration and spiritual care to the Villa and Manor staff - did an extraordinary job caring for our mother. Their compassion and patience will not be forgotten. We are also deeply grateful for the care team at Compasses Hospice. Special love goes out to sister-in-law, Amy, for countless hours of her loving touch and service to our family and to cousin Jill for visiting and providing special care to “Aunt Pat.”
In keeping with Pat’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Pat will be laid to rest with her husband at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly, WI. To honor Pat’s memory, please consider volunteering your services and taking every opportunity to show how much you care for your loved ones!
