Susie Reinke, age 61, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice on Thursday afternoon, February 16, 2012. Susie was born in New London on December 5, 1950, daughter of the late Herman and Lucille (Schmidt) Strobl. She graduated from Appleton East High School in 1969, and for many years had been employed at the Outlook Group. She held a variety of positions with Outlook over the years, but most recently worked as a Human Resources Professional there. She loved to sew, garden, take long walks, and spend time at the family get-a-way in Door County. She was an awesome mom, grandma, and sister who always made time for her family. Many will also remember Susie for her active role at Pathways Church in Appleton.
On May 9, 1970, Susie married Bob Reinke in Appleton. The couple enjoyed nearly forty-two years together. In addition to Bob, she is survived by two children: Polly (Jay) Olson and Chris (Shelly) Reinke, both of Appleton; four grandchildren: Brady and Olivia Olson and Rayne and Noelle Reinke; three sisters: Shirley Dietzen of Appleton, Betty (Dave) Schimmers of Appleton, and Terri (Michael) Randerson of Hortonville; and a brother: Herman “Sonny” (Paula) Strobl of Woodland Park, Colorado. There are also several in-laws: Alice Schultz of Waupaca, Mary (Melvin) Schmidt of Appleton, Jean (Dick) Neubauer of Neenah, Carol Bunnell of Neenah, Jerry Reinke of Appleton, Jim (Sue) Reinke of Milladore, and Tony Schmidt of Appleton. She will also be missed by her many dear friends and co-workers. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws George and Antoinette (Coenen) Reinke, brothers-in-law Herman Schultz and “Mike” Bunnell, and a sister-in-law JoAnn Schmidt.
