Appleton - Patricia Elizabeth Lison, age 95, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 16, 2023, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in Appleton.

Pat was born in Menasha on May 14,1927 daughter of John and Mary (Evans) Scanlon. Pat attended Jefferson Grade School in Menasha and Menasha High School, graduating with the class of 1945.

 

She was employed at Central Paper Company for 45 years, retiring in 1990 as their Marketing Administrator. Pat was active at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton; the Altrusa clubs of both Neenah-Menasha and Appleton. Lenz Gazecki Unit 152 of the American Legion Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary County Council Appleton. Pat was honored in 2021 by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 33 of Neenah, for being a 75 year member. Pat was also active in the Noon Lioness Club; Romeo’s and Calico’s Square Dance Club; FVTC sewing classes. Pat served on the Board of Central Paper Credit Union for 25 years. In 1982 Pat was named as Twin City Business and Professional Woman of the Year.

 

Pat enjoyed working on her computer, traveling, sewing, crafts and embroidery. Pat also loved making her famous “Nuts and Bolts” and her “Peanut Butter Balls” to share with family and friends. Pat had quite the sense of humor and kept you on your toes. She was a very giving and generous person.

 

Pat married Edward D. Zielinski on August 9,1952 at St John’s Church in Menasha. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1975. Pat married Thomas J Lison October 9, 1980 at St. Therese Church in Appleton. Tom preceded Pat in death on February 26, 2019. Pat is survived by Tom’s children Sandy (Jim) Hughes of Appleton, Mary (Bruce) Carlson of Denmark, Mark (Julie) Lison of Rockwell North Carolina, Chris (Susan) Lison of Menasha and Nancy (Ken) Lamers of Little Chute. Pat is also survived by 27 Grand Children, 53 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents and Grandparents, Pat was preceded in death by her sister Joyce and brother-in-law John Monday, sister Ruth and brother-in-law Erwin Becker, her special Aunt and Uncle Celia and George Ralph of Winneconne, three stepsons, Daniel Lison, Ray Lison, David Lison, daughter-in-law Nancy Lison, great great-granddaughter Sophie McClenahan. Brother and sister-in-law Lewis and Esther Lison, sister-and brother-in-law Loretta and Lee Sargent and other relatives and friends.

 

The Funeral Liturgy for Pat will be held on Monday March 27, 2023 at ST. THERESE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 213 E Wisconsin Ave. Appleton. Father Ryan Stark will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until time of service, with the funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.  Pat will be placed to rest at 2:00 PM that afternoon at Higland Memorial Park, 3131 N. Richmond St. Appleton.

 

Pat’s family would like to thank the staff at Rennes for their kind and compassionate care.  She always said that she felt well cared for by all the Rennes staff.
