Patricia L. Steinbach

Peg Steinbach, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, March 20, 2009. Peg was born in New London on November 26, 1940, daughter of the late Lester and Dorothy (Hetzer) O'Neil. On September 1, 1962 she married her loving husband, Phil Steinbach, in New London; he survives. Peg graduated from UW-Oshkosh and served as an elementary teacher for schools in Shiocton, New London and finishing her career at Highlands Elementary School in Appleton. Peg was very devoted to her church. She participated in bible study, parish council and the school board. Peg loved spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as reading novels, golfing, going for walks and watching the Green Bay Packers and UW Basketball.

Peg is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Phil Steinbach of Menasha; children: Kristine Steinbach of Indianapolis, IN., Mark (Stacy) Steinbach of Appleton, Steve (Amy) Steinbach of Appleton; grandchildren: Brendan, Morgan, Taylor, Charley; brothers: Thomas O' Neil, Michael O' Neil, James (Jody) O' Neil, Jerome (Denise) O' Neil; sister, Kathleen Sendek; sisters-in-law: Margaret O' Neil, Joyce Wolf; brothers-in-law: Russell (Marie) Steinbach and Roger (Colleen) Steinbach, and numerous nieces and nephews. Peg is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Gary Sendek.

A memorial funeral liturgy for Peg will be held on March 26, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, 516 DePere Street in Menasha with Fr. Paul Radetski officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, Peg's family has established a memorial fund.

Lord, when my soul takes flight, may it rise swiftly to live forever in your love and care.
