Otto R. Hofmann

July 17, 1940 — September 20, 2025

Kimberly

Otto R. Hofmann, age 85, of Kimberly, WI, passed peacefully into the arms of his loving Master on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the comfort of his home of 51 years.

Otto was born to Otto and Katherine Hofmann on July 17, 1940. He graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1958 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. Otto was always a loyal employee and provider—his most memorable jobs included work at Kingsbury Brewery, technical engineering with Chicago Aerial Industry, and, eventually, the United States Postal Service in Oshkosh, WI, where he dedicated 38 years of service before retiring.

A one-of-a-kind love story, Otto first met Mary K. Weinandt as his nurse. They fell in love through letters and were married on June 27, 1970. Always Mary’s “prince of a man,” together they shared 55 years of marriage. Their life was further blessed with three wonderful children: Michael (Kay), Sarah (Barney), and Brian (Sandra); seven delightful grandchildren: Bailey (Julianna), Halle, Hank, Noah, Tucker, Nevaeh, and Sofia; and, most recently, a great-granddaughter, Rory Jo. Otto was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Fritz and Hank.

In his younger years, Otto enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, and playing cards. A lifelong learner and reader, he always sought knowledge and stories, which he shared generously in conversation. Later in life, Otto found contentment in simple joys: time spent in his chair watching TV with his dog on his lap and inviting family to share in his culinary “masterpieces.”

Otto’s humble legacy is marked by honesty, generosity, and a tender heart. Knowing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he died confident in the hope of eternal life. Otto, Dad, Grandpa—we love you! Your memory is a treasure in our hearts!

A private family service will be held.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Master.” (Matthew 25:23)
