Norbert C. West, Jr

Norbert “Norb” West Jr, Appleton, passed away comforted by his wife Linda and his children. He was born on January 27, 1953, the son of Norbert Sr. and Marie West.

On October 6th, 1973, he married his high school sweetheart Linda Ann Luebke. Together they shared more than 52 years of marriage and raised two wonderful children

A 1971 graduate of Appleton West High School, Norb went on to earn an associate’s degree in Auto Mechanics from Fox Valley Technical College. He began his career as an auto mechanic at Cloud Buick before moving into the paper industry, working first at Thilmany and later at Kimberly-Clark Corp. He spent over 26 years at the Kimberly-Clark Diaper Plant. After its closure, Norb continued to serve others through his work in maintenance at Renaissance Nursing Home while studying to become an investment advisor. He went on to pass Securities Industry and State exams and worked with NYLIFE Securities LLC, Paul Hoffman and Company (LPL Financial LLC), and Advisors’ Pride Inc., all in Appleton. He also served on the Board of Directors for Lakeview Credit Union for more than 30 years.

A lifelong resident of Appleton, Norb cherished time with his children and granddaughters, raised border collies, and embraced the outdoors through camping, traveling, bicycling, and running marathons. He completed several Ironman competitions. After retirement, Norb and Linda purchased a motorhome and traveled to 48 states, spending winters in Texas, California, and Arizona. Norb served as president of the Badgers RV group and was an active member of the Safari RV group, helping plan many of their gatherings. He was also a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton.

Norb will be greatly missed by his loving wife Linda, his 2 children: Jennifer (Jason) Fryar in Tomahawk, James (Stacey) West in Appleton, two grandchildren: Virginia and Charlotte, 2 brothers: Steven (Karen) West in Hortonville and Andy (Donna) West in Woodruff, and 2 sisters: Joan Hartstern (Chuck Salamun) in Pewaukee, Barb West in Appleton, 5 nephews, 5 nieces, and numerous grandnephews and grandnieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert Sr. and Marie West and parents-in-law Merlin and Betty Luebke.

A funeral service for Norb will take place on Monday March 16, 2026, at 11:00am at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E Glendale Ave, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until the service begins. Norb will be entombed at Highland Memorial Park.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Stroke Association in Norb’s name.
