Obituary

On March 12, 2026, Nancy Stuyvenberg left the warm embrace of her family and stepped ever so gently into eternity. Nancy was born on September 7, 1935, in Appleton to Aloysius “Al” and Lyla (Zimmerman) Ayers. Nancy graduated from Appleton High School in 1953 and proceeded to work at the Outagamie County Veterans Service Office.

In 1957, Nancy married Paul Stuyvenberg and they moved to Kimberly where they raised their 6 children. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom until 1976 at which point she reentered the work force as the first Deputy Clerk for the Village of Kimberly, a post from which she retired in 1997. Nancy fully embraced being a transplant to Kimberly. She was an election officer, was a member of the Kimberly Historical Society, volunteered at Holy Spirit (Holy Name) Parish and girl scouts. She was a servant to her core and enjoyed all manner of assisting others for which she received the Marie Rice Citizenship Award.

She was a fixture in Kimberly as she and Paul started their own Christmas tree farm in Bowler and sold trees out of their home for 53 years. Christmas was a year-long event in the Stuyvenberg household, in preparation for the holiday, she and Paul loved spending numerous hours creating wreaths, flocking trees but most of all nurturing the friendships she held dear. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, bowling and spending time at the family cottage in Poygan and the tree farm. In addition, she was a passionate Brewers and Packer fan. One of Nancy’s true gifts was caring for and looking out for others. Upon every departure from her house she admonished: “watch out for deer.” She was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren and the greats! She always attended all the sporting events, concerts and other extracurricular activities for her children and grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her six children: Paula (Mark) Van Cuyk and their children Nick (Julie), Doug (Lindsay), and Jennifer (Mark) Myers; Joanne (Bill) Read and their sons Aaron and Kevin Seif; Dennis (Sheila) Stuyvenberg; Mary Jo (Rich) Kohl and their sons Matt (Sarah) and Ben (Mandy); Janice (Bob) Grissman and their daughters Schelby (Eric) Englund and Stephany (Ari) Grissman; Carol (Randy) Wierschke and their sons Jason (Laura), Justin (Casey), and Jared; great grandchildren: Elle, Lucy, Claire, Quinn, Maggie, Arthur, Philip, Cameron, Maya, Delaney, Harper, Bridger, Carson, Aurora, Broxton, JJ, Mays and Sydney; her sister and brother Patty Vander Wielen and Jim (Nan) Ayers; and sisters-in-law “Pete” Mary (Larry) Vander Pas and “Pat” Charlotte Stuyvenberg, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, her brother John (Lois) Ayers, Paul’s parents Henry and Elizabeth Stuyvenberg; brothers-in-law: Martin Vander Wielen, Ken (Nori), Stuyvenberg, Don (Dorothy, Ginger) Stuyvenberg, Bob (June) Stuyvenberg, Gene (Jeanne, Carol) Stuyvenberg, Jerry (Karen) Stuyvenberg, Dick Stuyvenberg, sisters-in-law: Rita (Carl) Rehfeldt and Betty (Jim, Bob, Jim) Ludwig.

A funeral liturgy for Nancy will take place on Wednesday March 25, 2026, at 11:00am at Holy Spirit Parish, 600 E Kimberly Ave, Kimberly. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until mass begins. Nancy will be laid to rest at Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.
