Nancy Powell-Ducat, 62, passed away August 1, 2010, with her family by her side, after a private, courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born on October 25, 1947, the daughter of Delbert and Alvina Ernst. Nancy was married to Jerry Ducat.
Nancy was an extremely independent, hard worker who enjoyed her career at Plexus, retiring in December after twenty-two years. Nancy truly enjoyed cooking for everyone, often keeping her recipes under “tight lips”. It was tradition for Nancy to host Christmas for her family each and every year. Nancy enjoyed camping in her trailer, assembling complex puzzles, quilting, and many different crafts. She was a talented seamstress who could create anything and was often the last minute seamstress for friends, family, and neighbors. She will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her husband: Jerry Ducat; her son: Shawn (Wendy) Powell; daughters: Paula (Tom) Landry, Elizabeth Ducat, and Diana (Reggie) Martinez; two brothers: Greg (Honey) Ernst and Randy (Jean) Ernst; two sisters: Shirley Ernst and her friend Pat Rager and Janice Brum; four grandchildren: Travis, Alyssa, Jacob, and Nathan; two great-grandchildren: Melanie and Jamie; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Alvina Ernst.
A private service by Pastor Martin Koeller of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be held.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nancy's sister Janice, as well as the staff of Theda Care At Home for the wonderful care Nancy received.
