Nancy Carol Felton, age 85, was called home on June 15, 2026, after a brief illness. Nancy was born in Appleton, WI to Edwin and Lorraine (Springstroh) Buss. She grew up in Freedom, WI and attended Freedom High School where she met her very special lifelong friend Helen Johnson. Nancy resided in Mackville, WI raising her four daughters until 1988. She worked various jobs in her life including Advance Industries, Franciscan Care Center, Guardian Life Insurance, Lutheran Social Services, Jim & Ann’s Country Bar, and Ziggy’s Bar.

Nancy had an infectious smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and a positive outlook on life. She laughed often, made friends easily wherever she went, and genuinely loved interacting with people. Her warmth, kindness and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Nancy spent the last 23 years of her life in Green Bay, where she became an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures-enjoying a good meal of her favorite Kentucky Fried Chicken, listening to old country music, keeping up with her favorite soap operas, playing bingo and Friday fish fry’s. Nancy was a regular volunteer at the American Red Cross and received an award for devoting over 20 years of service.

Nancy is survived by 3 daughters: Connie (Larry) Bretl, Carla Felton, Christine Felton; grandchildren: Amanda (Kyle) Laedtke, Amber (Patrick Hubert) Bretl and J. E. Leddon; great grandchildren: Paige, Claire and Lachlan. In addition, she is survived by her sister Karen (Bruce) Starczyk and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Lorraine Buss, her daughter Cindy Leddon and friend Wendy Sporleder.

A funeral service for Nancy will take place on Thursday June 25, 2026, at 11:00am, at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 9:00am until the service begins.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Red Cross in Nancy’s name.

Special thanks to friends Helen Johnson, Susie Besson, and Diane Neeve for their unwavering support during the difficult times in her life. Also, special thanks to the staff at Wyndemere Assisted Living in Green Bay for making her feel special and like she belonged. In her words, “this is my home.”

Nancy left a lasting and positive impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed.
