Nancy Ellen McLaughlin, age 80, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012, with her family at her side. Nancy was born on November 15, 1931, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Raymond and Agnes (Crowe) Treiber. Nancy graduated from Appleton West High School in 1949. She enjoyed working in her parent's jewelry store, Pitz and Treiber Jewelers. On her 21st birthday, Nancy married the late Gerald F. McLaughlin at St. Mary Catholic Church in Appleton. She was a lifelong member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Appleton.
Nancy is survived by her children: Terry (Diana) McLaughlin and Cynthia (Bruce) Opsal; six grandchildren: Mike McLaughlin, Melissa (Ben) Gigstead, Katie (Dan) Garvey, Emma; Zach and Tim Opsal. Two great grandchildren: Landon and Evelyn Gigstead; nephew: Raymond “Pete” (Kay) Treiber III; brother-in-law, Richard (Betty) McLaughlin, sister-in-law, Betty (Lyle) Gerhartz. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her triplet daughters, who were baptized and confirmed in the faith in 1952, Cynthia Ann, Deborah Sue, and Pamela Jane; along with her brother, Raymond “Bud” Treiber Jr., parental in-laws, William and Anastasia McLaughlin, brothers-in-law, William and Robert McLaughlin, sister-in-law, Mary (Harry) Krueger.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Fox Valley Mother and Unborn Baby Care are appreciated. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staffs at, Touchmark, Brewster Village and Heartland Hospice, for their loving care.
