Minnie Louise Green was born on March 26, 1951 to her parents Gerald and Elsie Louise (Flynn) Green and passed away on March 21, 2024 with her family by her side.
Minnie graduated from Freedom High School in 1969, then met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Nelson, on May 8, 1971. Minnie loved sewing, reading, camping, going for drives with Bill, watching NASCAR races, and watching her grandkids sports games and performances. She loved the warm weather, vacationing in Florida, and listening to her music.
She spent her life loving and caring for her family everyday. She loved being an older sister to her siblings, especially her little sister. When her mom and her mother and father-in-law needed her help, there was never hesitation in her caregiver role. When her grandchildren needed daycare they weren’t going anywhere but to grandma, which built the special bond they all have with her. Her children never needed to ask for support, she was always there for them everyday. She loved them in her every action and they were beyond blessed to have the best mom in the world. And her husband, they took care of each other for fifty-five years and shared a loving bond that was a blessing to witness. Her favorite movie was Pretty Woman and the fairytale ending, where the prince saved her and she saved him right back…that was Minnie and Bill. There was never a time they didn’t take care of one another.
Minnie is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Billie (Andrew) Schleiss (Little Chute) and son Joel (Wendy) Nelson (Appleton); her grandsons Matthew Nackers and Chase Nelson and granddaughters
Megan Nackers and Abby Schleiss; brothers John (Karen) Green, George (Barb) Green, Pete (Deb) Green, and Bill (Rose) Green; special cousins Judy (Pat) Snow, Bob Wolf, and Carmen Birk; and close friends Larry and Sharon Mueller. She is further survived by nieces and nephews and many close friends.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-low Grace and Howard Nelson, her sister Mary Lu Roehl, and her brother Michael Green.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Thedacare Regional Medical Center-Appleton especially the ICU staff, her nursing staff, Dr. Pierre, and the hospice team that took great care of her. Thank you for helping us honor her wishes.
