Michael “Mike” Ronald Emmer, age 56, formerly of Appleton, passed away Wednesday morning, April 1, 2009 at his home in Green Bay. Michael was born May 10, 1952 in Appleton, to Ronald and Alice (Nilles) Emmer. He served in the US Navy until being honorably discharged on January 23, 1973.
He was always ready to make everyone laugh and smile, by performing as a professional clown. He loved to wear ugly Hawaiian shirts. Mike enjoyed cooking, wood carving, but most of all he was proud of his children and was a proud grandfather.
Michael is survived by his two sons: Alex (Christine) and Kyle (Elizabeth) Emmer; two grandchildren: Colton Emmer and a soon to be born baby Emmer; his parents: Ronald and Alice Emmer; two sisters: Mary (David) Carstensen and Diane (Kurt) Andersen; brother: Patrick (Michelle) Emmer; a very special friend: Margaret L. Michel; and other relatives and friends.
A Gathering in celebration of Michael's life will be held 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Sunday, April 5, 2009 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton. Burial will take place at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI with full military honors.
A memorial fund has been established in Michael's name.
Mike will always be remembered for ending every day with saying, “I love you”.
