Mike Miller, age 51, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Mike was born on August 28, 1962, in Manitowoc, to Janet (Reis) Miller and the late Arnold Miller. He married Barbara Ninmer on June 14, 1985, in Reedsville. Mike was a well-known Master Electrician and was a proud member of Local #577 of the IBEW. He was a member of the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department from 1984 until his move to Appleton in 1989. Mike was the Commander of the Sons of Amvets, Squadron #1032. He was a member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, where he was a former Pioneer Leader. Mike was an avid Packer and Brewers fan, and especially enjoyed NASCAR—his favorite race driver was Matt Kenseth—and was a dedicated fan at WIR in Kaukauna. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and was a proud landowner of the West Maple Grove Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Barb; his sons, Andrew (Ashley, his girl friend) and Bryan; his mother, Janet Miller; his mother-in-law, Sandra Freis; his sisters and brother, Laurie (Glen) Wagner, Reedsville; Susan Miller, Reedsville; Rosanne (John) Porter, Reedsville; Paul (Chris) Miller, Brillion; and Mary Miller, Menominie; his sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Tommy) Frangis, Tennessee; Debra Weber, Milwaukee; his brother-in-law, Ken (Julie) Ninmer, California; his God children, Jacob Miller and Victoria Frangis; his God mother, Marge Cardinal and his late God father, Robert Wilhelm; his nieces and nephews, Carissa Miller; Nicholas Porter; Angela, Anthony and Sheila Mangin; and Jordan and Preston Ninmer. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and family members, and his beagles Lucy and Lily. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnie Miller, his infant daughter, his father-in-law, Kenneth Ninmer, and his beloved beagles, Snoopy and Sadie.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
