Michael J. Krych

Michael Krych, age 60, passed away peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Mike was born in Chicago on February 11, 1949, son of the late Steven Krych and Wanda (Malaszuk) Krych who still resides in Chicago. He attended elementary and high school in Chicago, and graduated from Wright College with a degree in business. On May 5, 1983, he married the former Pattie Friel in Chicago, and over the years he was employed by Bailey Controls, A.B.B., Novaspect, and most recently, Rockwell Automation.

Mike was a longtime member of the Town of Buchanan Board of Supervisors, the Garner's Creek Storm Water Utility Board, and also worked in the electrical department at Home Depot. Mike enjoyed working with stained glass, playing the accordion, golfing, skiing, and sports of all kinds. He was also an avid Packer fan.

Mike is survived by his wife: Pattie Krych of Appleton; two children: Katie Krych and Jim Krych, both of Appleton; his mother: Wanda Krych of Chicago; a brother: Steven (Bonnie) Krych of Woodale, Illinois; a sister: Mary (Herman) Perilla of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; Pattie's sisters: Carol (Mike) Heiderscheidt of Waterman, Illinois and Susan Friel of McHenry, Illinois; and Pattie's mother: Marie Friel of Chilton, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his father Steven Krych and his father-in-law James Friel.

A Latin high mass will be celebrated by Fr. Andreas Hellmann at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 21, 2009 at ST. JOSEPH'S ORATORY, 1825 Riverside Drive in Green Bay. Interment will follow in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with an Evening Vigil being held at 7:00 PM. Monday morning, Mike's casket will be received at the church at 10:15 AM.
