Emblem

Michael Earl Frahm Sr. left this earth early Thursday morning, October 15th, 2026. He had battled cancer along with other illnesses that came along with it and despite his strong will, his body was done fighting. He was born on February 27, 1957 to Melvin and Marceil Frahm. He grew up in Appleton, graduated from Appleton East High School and spent most of his life in the Appleton area.

After high school, he joined the Army where he proudly served the United States of America for 4 years of active duty and a number of years in the Reserves. In that time he met the beautiful Susan M Kroiss and made himself one lucky man when they married on December 1st, 1977. Mike was stationed out in Massachusetts and Susan followed and brought their first son Michael Jr. into the world. After a few years, the family moved back home to Wisconsin and their second son, David was born. The boys would sadly lose their mother and Michael raised the boys with loving help from both sides of the family.

Mike was an avid Wisconsin fan, always cheering on his Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers. He enjoyed watching a good race, you could always find him in front of the television watching NASCAR. With his love of those sports also came a hobby of collecting many various sports memorabilia from each sport and players especially his Packers and his favored quarterbacks. He was also an avid fan of Elvis Presley.

His calendar was filled with important dates and if you were on his list, your birthday card was always there on or before your special day. He had a huge soft spot for animals, especially making his grand pups feel right at home. He enjoyed finding new recipes to try and was a great home cook; except for the short time when he thought every dish needed a little horseradish. Mike especially loved catching a movie matinee with his granddaughter.

He will be missed by his children and grandchildren, Michael (Tasha) Frahm and their children Veronyca and Carter, and David (Alaina) Frahm and their children Owen, Melanie and Griffen. He is further survived by his sisters, Deb Montanye and Gail (Dan) Lemmers as well as a brother Rob (Barbra) Frahm, and brother in law Larry Kucksdorf, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mike is preceded in death by his first wife Susan (Kroiss); his parents, Melvin and Marceil; and his sister Joni Kucksdorf.

A visitation will be held from 3-5pm on Thursday November 5, 2026 at Wichmann Tri-County Chapel, 1529 S Oneida St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a short memorial service to follow at 5pm.

Mike’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and other staff at Compassus Hospice for their care and compassion shown during his time of need. St E’s Staff at Heme/Onc where he got his infusions for all those years. A very special Thank You goes to his neighbors Gerard and Lana Mader for their many years of helping Mike with the upkeep of his yard.

We are happy to know Mike is free of his earthly pains. God Speed father and grandpa Mike…we hope you rest peacefully.

Lastly, Mike Jr and David would like to thank their wives Tasha and Alaina for all their help and support with their Father.
