Michael J. Davel

Michael Joseph Davel, age 64 of Greenville, WI joined His heavenly kingdom on October 19, 2026. He was born to James and Lorna (Leu) Davel on March 19, 1962 in Neenah, WI. After graduating from Menasha High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from UW Eau Claire. He applied these skills to his career as a purchaser for several manufacturing companies. Michael met the love of his life, Mary Montonati, in high school and they were married in 1983. Together, they raise 3 wonderful children.

Michael was a man of many passions, especially outdoor activities. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and hiking. He was especially proud to be an owner of a cottage in Rowley’s Bay in Door County, at which he spent a lot of time and made many great memories. Michael was also quite fond of playing cards and following sports. The majority of his time was spent with his family in some way, though. He loved attending his children’s extracurricular activities and spending time with his grandchildren. Michael was so proud of everyone he helped to raise, cherishing every moment he could spend with those he loved most.

Michael will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Davel; his children, Matthew (Lindsay) Davel, Katelyn (Matthew) Holstead, and Andrea Davel; his grandchildren, Aamara, Max, Renzo, Madison, Macie, and Mason; his siblings, Victoria Davel (Jeff Franke), Steven (Bonnie) Davel, Cynthia (James) Hockenberry, and Mary (Jeff) Glisczinski; his in-laws, Terry (Linda) Montonati, Gail (Scott) Stewart, and Tina Montonati; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, James and Lorna Davel; his parents-in-law, Donald and Yvonne Montonati; his sister-in-law, Tammy Montonati; and his nephew, Charlie Davel.

A memorial visitation will be held from 9-11 AM on Friday, October 30, 2026 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 324 Nicolet Blvd, Menasha, WI 54952 with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM.
