Melissa “Missy” Cain, age 62, passed away quietly on January 7, 2024. Missy was born on April 29, 1961, in Milwaukee, daughter of Charles and Helen (Boehles) Cain.
Despite her challenges, Missy smiled from the moment she woke until the time she went to bed. She spread happiness as she chatted with anyone that passed her by. Missy enjoyed socializing with friends at Magellan House group home and The Threshold Inc in West Bend, Minnesota house and Pathways in Oostburg/Sheboygan, Bethel Assisted Living in Darboy, and Crossroads Care Center in Green Bay. She loved art projects, dancing, listening to Rock n’ Roll, puzzles, and winning prizes during bingo. She was well known for her collection of stuffed animals. They lined the shelves of her room and were often gifted to her by her friends. Missy’s tender heart loved the joy of children, dogs, and kitties.
Missy shared a special bond with her brother, Mike and his wife Kathy. As an integral part of her care team, Mike and Kathy spoiled Missy with trips to Culver’s and unforgettable hugs.
Besides Mike and Kathy, Missy is survived by her sister Cynthia (Jerry) Tillman and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepbrother Lehry Cain.
The memorial service for Missy will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida St, Menasha, WI. Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Missy will be laid to rest next to her parents in North Dakota.
Mike and Kathy would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and care givers who helped Missy throughout the years. "Team Missy" was the best!
