Mary Rose Polcin, 69, of Menasha, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 21, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mary was born in Racine WI, on October 8, 1952, daughter of the late Clarence and Genevieve (Navarre) Sorenson. She was a 1970 graduate of St. Catherine’s High School in Racine WI and nine years later she married her best friend, John Polcin, on September 5, 1981 at Queenship of Mary Chapel. Mary and John would celebrate 40 years of marriage and raise five children together.
Mary held several jobs through her career; most notably as quality inspector at Plexus retiring in 2018. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved to cook, read, and feeding the birds, squirrels, and other wildlife. Mary enjoyed listening to music as well. She had a strong Catholic faith that would give her strength no matter the situation. Mary gave thanks to God through daily prayers and devotions.
Mary is survived by her husband: John Polcin; her children: Barbra Polcin, Tertiary John Tony (Heather) Polcin, Judy (Brandon) Ketchum, Michael Polcin, and Olivia Polcin; grandchildren: Brooklyn, Alaina, Mickael, Lucia, Stella, James, Trentin, Benjamin, Delilah, John Tony, Lea, Conrad, and Mary; sister-in-law: Kristine Grow, Josie (Kevin) Grow, Linda Polcin, Marjorie Sorenson, Colleen Gavahan, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Dr. John R. J. Sorenson, David Sorenson, and Dennis (Judith Hanson) Sorenson; parents-in-law: John G. and Josephine (Kroes) Polcin; brothers-in-law: Patrick Polcin and Ronnie Grow, and sister-in-law: Valeria Polcin.
The Requiem High Mass for Mary will be on Tuesday, November, 30, 2021, at 11:00 am at ST. MICHAEL’S CHAPEL, 1782 Lost Dauphin Rd., De Pere, with Father Andrew Dwyer SSPX officiating. Visitation for Mary will be held on November 29, 2021, at the WICHMANN TRI COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 ONEIDA ST, MENASHA, from 3:00 pm until the rosary and devotion at 5:00 pm. And again at CHURCH from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Interment to follow at St. Michaels Cemetery after Mass.
Mary’s family would like to thanks the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their gentle and kind care. They would also like to thank Father Andrew Dwyer SSPX for his guidance and prayers.
