Mary Patricia “Pat” Gloudemans, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Despite the challenges she faced during her illness, Mary showed incredible strength and maintained her sense of humor throughout. She was beloved by all who knew her for her warm nature and generous spirit. She will be remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, mentor, and a fun-loving individual who could effortlessly bring a smile to anyone's face. Mary had an exceptional ability to connect with people, and her genuine interest in others endeared her to everyone she encountered.
Mary was born on December 4, 1940 in Kimberly Wisconsin to the late Cleborne A. and Margaret E. (Vanden Heuvel) Vander Velden. She was a graduate of Kimberly High School, Class of 1959. On September 1, 1962 she married Eugene “Gene” Gloudemans at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. Together they enjoyed over 61 years together raising their family and making a home. She also worked as a Teacher’s Aid with the Kimberly School District, retiring on January 7, 2001 after 20 years. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at AMC and Encircle Health. She enjoyed knitting, especially baby caps for newborns at AMC. She also enjoyed walking and was an avid Kimberly High School sports fan.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Eugene of Kimberly, Jay (Sharon) Gloudemans of Nebraska, Tod Gloudemans of Combined Locks, grandchildren, Kalli (husband Tyler Van De Leygraaf) Gloudemans of Nebraska, Tyler Gloudemans of New London, step-grandchildren, Jamie (Jeff) Mantei, Josh Balthazor, and Helen Balthazor, sister Nancy (special friend Ken) Seidl, sisters-in-law Yvonne Gloudemans and Mary Gloudemans and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene’s parents, Henry and Mary Gloudemans, sister Judy Vander Velden, brother Jim Vander Velden, and in-laws Fran Seidl, Darlene (Lester) Schmidt and Roger Gloudemans.
