Mary E. Ohm, 90, Appleton, entered into eternal peace on August 7, 2013. Mary was born on July 11, 1923 in Waterloo Iowa to the late Thomas and Marcella (Melavan) Cavanaugh. Mary served her country proudly during WWII as a veteran of the US Navy. In 1974 she moved from Monona WI to Appleton with her husband Bob. Bob was an Appleton area school teacher for many years and a fellow WWII veteran. Mary was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver for her family. Mary loved her flowers and had a fabulous display in front of her home every year. She was also very fond of her pets.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed and loved forever by 5 generations. She is survived by 6 children, Bob Forler, McFarland, WI, Arlene (Mike) Larson, Jacksonville, FL, Wayne (Char) Forler, DeForest, WI, Marilyn (Richard) Schoen, Hartland, WI, Allen Forler, Wisconsin Dells and Raymond (Jane) Forler, Appleton, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Robert D. Ohm and 1 daughter Elaine Gibson.
Visitation will be at Wichmann Funeral Home on Sunday August 11, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 pm. There will be no funeral services in Appleton, WI.
