Mary Ann Schuenemann, age 85, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. The former Mary Ann Marks was born May 21, 1924 in New Berlin to Herman and Anna (Schmidt) Marks. She was united in marriage to Arthur E. Schuenemann on June 20, 1942 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. In 1960 the couple moved to Appleton. Mary Ann was employed by Ford Drug for twenty-four years. Mary Ann loved children, and after her retirement babysat for various families, including the Gene Gunderson family. Mary Ann enjoyed bowling, golfing, swimming, and loved to read. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of Appleton.
Mary Ann is survived by two sons: Arthur (Bev) Schuenemann of Granger, Indiana and Richard (Jackie) Schuenemann of Appleton; and by three grandchildren: Jason, Angie, and Andy, all of Appleton; her brother: Norbert Marks, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur, a son Edward “Skippy”, brothers Roland, James, and Earl, and sisters Alice Rajchel and Irene Krull.
The funeral service for Mary Ann will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 S. State Street in Appleton with Deacon Gerry Schraufnagel officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elm Grove. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and again at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials are appreciated to the Fox Valley Alzheimer's Association of Greater Wisconsin.
