Mary A. Burke

Mary A. Burke, of Appleton, age 92, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011. She was born on May 30, 1919 in Kaukauna, the daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Stumpf) Hartzheim. Mary worked in insurance and banking, retiring from First National Bank (now Chase).

She is survived by her children: Sara (Richard) Buscher of Appleton; John (Jane) Burke of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Carol (Tim) Buss of Freedom and Rob Burke of Appleton; four grandchildren: Melissa (Drew) Rozdilsky and Cody Buss; Samantha and Paige Burke; two great-grandchildren: Graham and Evan Rozdilsky; and her sister: Joan Hunter, Kaukauna. Mary is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund J. Burke; brothers: Clarence
(Verona) Hartzheim and Floyd (Anita) Hartzheim; a sister: Rita (Vic)Radloff; as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Caroline (Joe)
Caze, Alice (Ray) Parsons, Jeanette (Sam) Casey, Mildred (Leo) Spindler, Jack (Sally) Burke, Margaret (Nick) Verhagen, and Agnes (Ves) Van Domelen.

The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at ST. THERESE CATHOLIC CHURCH, Morrison Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Fr. William Hoffman will be officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at church from 10:00 am until the time of mass.
