GILES, MARTHA H.

Martha H. Giles, age 87, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Darboy Living Center. She was born March 21, 1921 in Jackson, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Jane Johnson. She married Albert Giles in Kentucky and they moved to Appleton in the 1940's. Martha worked for many years at Great Northern Container, retiring at age 70. She was a simple woman who enjoyed travel and loved Christmas and looked forward to decorating each year.

Martha is survived by her son: Dennis (Darlene) Giles of Appleton; a brother: Bill (Peggy) Johnson of Kaukauna; four grandchildren: Steve Giles of Hortonville, Pam (Craig) Knaack of Combined Locks, Bill Giles of Florida, Barb Giles of Kimberly; eleven great-grandchildren; and nieces an nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother and sister-in-law: Ed and Sheila Giles, formerly of Florida.

A memorial prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until time of services.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Darboy Living Center for the good and compassionate care they provided. The family has established a memorial to the Alzheimer Association.
