Marlene M. Klister

Marlene Mary Klister (Reeths), age 94 of Appleton, WI passed away on July 8, 2026 peacefully, with her husband Lee of 73 years at her side. She was born and raised in Marshfield, WI on April 20, 1932, daughter of Arthur and Marie Reeths. After graduating high school, Marlene earned her nursing degree from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, WI and became a registered nurse, taking on many roles for many years. Marlene met and married the love of her life, Lee Klister in Kaukauna, WI on October 24th, 1953. Together, they lovingly raised 5 children.

Marlene was a warm, compassionate, and caring woman with a truly nurturing spirit. She loved to laugh and enjoyed visiting with others. Marlene was very confident, independent, and always made time to be a mom to all. Marlene loved sewing, coloring, reading, and BINGO. More than anything, though, Marlene loved her family and cherished every moment she spent with their children, grandchildren (12), and great-grandchildren (11 – soon to be 12!)

Marlene will be deeply missed by her husband, Leland; her children, Steven (Diane), Kathleen (significant other Mark Neitzel), Mark (Kim), Nan, and Paul (Brenda); her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many other extended relatives and dear friends.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marie Reeths.

In respect to Marlene and her family’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held by her family.
