Obituary

Mark Robert Klitzke, age 70, of Appleton, Wisconsin, was unexpectedly called home to Heaven on April 26, 2026.

Born on June 22, 1955, in Menominee, Michigan, Mark lived a life marked by faith, kindness, talent, and deep love for others.

Mark was the cherished son of Robert Klitzke and Betty (Aman) Klitzke, and the beloved brother of Diane Beatty and Kathleen Klitzke. Mark was an intelligent, kind, and thoughtful man whose gifts touched many. He was an amazing musician and artist, blessed with creativity and talent that brought joy to those around him. Mark also carried an unwavering faith in the Lord and lived with a strong and steady work ethic throughout his life.

In more recent years, Mark discovered a special love for horses and became a skilled horseman. He found great happiness in riding and spending time with these remarkable animals.

Above all, Mark will be remembered for the light he brought into every room through his million-watt smile. He touched countless hearts throughout his journey, blessing many lives with his warmth, humor, and gentle spirit. Mark will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Mark is survived by his mother, Betty Klitzke; his sisters, Diane and Kathleen; his nephew, Brian Bessette-Verkuilen (partner Mindy Cruz); his niece, Bridgette (Luke) Karls; great-niece, Peyton Karls; and many dear friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Robert Klitzke; his brother-in-law, Phil Beatty; and his nephew, Christopher Bessette. Mark’s Mom and sisters think he and Dad are tossing a football or baseball while waiting for “the girls” to join them.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life. In honor of Mark’s memory, donations may be made to Beaming Inc. in Neenah, Wisconsin, where he regularly and joyfully rode horses for many years.
