She was a 1942 graduate of the Appleton High School, and as a young woman worked as a Supervisor at Wisconsin Michigan Power Company for fifteen years. For many years, Marilynn worked as a clerk and department manager at Gimbels, Marshall Field's, Herberger's and Younkers Department Stores in downtown Appleton.
Marilynn was a genuine and kind-hearted woman who always put the needs of others before those of her own. Lovingly known as “Nana”, she was the life of the party, enjoyed meeting new people, and loved being with family and friends. She also had an incredible memory, which meant that she always had entertaining stories to share. She lived a good life, and enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. Her amazing sense of adventure meant that you never knew where you would end up when you were with Nana; she even made it to the top of the Blarney Castle.
