Marilyn R. Ossian (Wiegert) has gone to heaven to join her family and friends on September 3, 2026 at the age of 90. She was born on a farm in Fond du Lac, WI to Arden and Ida (Kessel) Wiegert on August 25, 1936. After graduating from high school, she worked a number of jobs throughout her life, including Wisconsin Bell Telephone company and American Can, but prided herself for her secretarial work at Faith Lutheran Church before her retirement. Marilyn married Wiliam Frank Ossian on April 18, 1964 and they were together for 54 years until his passing. Together, they lovingly raised two children.

Marilyn was a true Wisconsinite and the embodiment of Midwest Nice. She loved polka music, dancing, and always cheered on the Packers or the Badgers whenever they were playing. Marilyn enjoyed golfing and was always happy to tell folks that she managed to get a hole in one! She had a deep faith in the Lord, trusting and believing in the words, “in my Father’s house, there are many mansions. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going away to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” More than anything, though, Marilyn loved her family and cherished all of the good times, especially with her kids and grandkids.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by her children, Karen and Peter Ossian; her grandchildren, Cole (Chelsea), Kai, and Eric Ossian; her great-granddaughter, Lennon Ossian; her brother, LeRoy Wiegert; as well as several nieces, a nephew, other extended relatives, and many dear friends.

In heaven, Marilyn is reunited with her husband of 54 years, Frank Ossian; her parents, Arden and Ida Wiegert; her siblings, Eva (Phillip) Hasch and Edsel (Virginia) Wiegert; her sister-in-law, Georgia Wiegert; and her nieces, Patti Bemis and Nanci Buchanon.

A memorial visitation will be held for Marilyn from 10-11 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale Ave, Appleton, WI 54911 with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM. Marilyn will be laid to rest with her husband at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton, WI. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the radio ministry at Faith Lutheran Church (WHBY Radio) in honor of Marilyn. Please note that green and gold attire is encouraged for her service!
