Marilyn J. Keddell

Marilyn J. Keddell (Deltour) of Appleton, WI peacefully passed away on October 19, 2023.  She was born to Lucille Deltour on February 26, 1932 in Appleton, WI.  Marilyn graduated from Appleton West High School with the class of ’50 and went on to work for Zaug’s Catering, Marshall Fields, and Gimball’s.  Marilyn married the love of her life, Kenneth Keddell in May of 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton and together, they raised 3 wonderful children. 

Marilyn had the biggest heart of gold and was there for anyone and everyone who needed her.  She even retired early to fully help her son, Dave, and her grandchildren through some really tough times.  Reading was a big passion for Marilyn and she enjoyed completing word searches with ease.  Marilyn was a devout Lutheran and was a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in the past.  More than anything, though, family was everything to Marilyn, and she devoted as much of her time as she could to them.  She was so proud of all her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, and gave her love to every single one of them, teaching them the same strength she had in her heart. 

Marilyn is survived by her children, Carol (Steve) Otto, David Keddell, and Paul (Janel) Keddell; her grandchildren, Scott (Amber) Otto, Jen (Tim) Brennan, Sarah (John) Rivet, Heather Keddell, Amy Ortiz, Keagan Keddell, and Payton Keddell; 9 great-grandchildren; her step-great-grandson, Camden; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. 

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Ken Keddell; her great-grandchild, Miranda Otto; her siblings, Sandy (Ron) Jansen, Joylene (Norbert) Bodway, and Richard Deltour; and many siblings-in-law. 

A funeral visitation will be held for Marilyn from 3-6 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St, Appleton, WI 54911 with a funeral service to follow at 6 PM.  Marilyn will be laid to rest next to her beloved Ken at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. 

Marilyn’s family would like to extend an extra special thanks to all the wonderful nurses, doctors, and other staff with ThedaCare At Home Hospice for all the caring and compassionate care they provided to her through the past year.
