Age 73, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Crestwood Senior Living Center – Sheelin House in Darboy. She was born on April 16, 1935 in Appleton, daughter of the late Harvey and Lila (Wehausen) Burton. Before retirement, Marilyn worked in the kitchen at the Paper Valley Hotel. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, making rag dolls, reading, and crossword puzzles, and had an affinity for animals, especially cats.

She will be sadly missed by her sisters: Ila Mae Ritchie, Appleton; Joyce (Donald) Kunstman, Kimberly; half-sister: Dorothy Gruen, Kimberly; nieces and nephews: Gene (Peggy) Ritchie, Menasha; Laurie (Wayne) Vandenlangenberg, Neenah, Diane Ritchie, Appleton, Donald James Kunstman, Kimberly; grand niece: Samantha Ritchie; grand nephew: Kyle Ritchie; in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her half-sister: Marion (Aloysious “Tony”) Anthony; half brother: John (Ann) Kesselhon; brothers-in-law: Kenneth Ritchie and Lambert Gruen; niece: Donna Snow, nephew: Floyd Anthony; grand niece: Rebecca Lynn Ritchie.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior Street). Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sheelin House and hospice nurse Lisa Potter for their loving care.
