Marilyn A. Falk

Marilyn Ann Falk, age 86 of Menasha, WI joined her heavenly kingdom on February 6, 2024, surrounded by her 3 children.  She was born to Donald and Madeline (Pasquale) Dine on November 17, 1937 in Lafayette, IN.  Her mother married Paul Akers – her true father who loved and cared for her.  They moved around military bases quite a lot in her youth.  Marilyn graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of ’55 and went on to marry the love of her life, Melvin Falk in September of 1956.  They settled in Menasha, WI and together, were blessed with 3 wonderful children.  She worked as a Y-Teen director and was deeply appreciated for the mentoring work she did with them.  She was known for holding numerous volunteer positions around the community.  Marilyn later earned an Associate Degree from Fox Valley Technical College and went on to work as a Marketing Specialist for the Banta Corporation, taking great pride in her work, starting up the telemarketing department in the company.  

Marilyn was first and foremost a mother – both to her family and to anyone who needed a motherly figure.   She was a beautiful, kind-hearted soul who was a positive, loving guide to all.  After Melvin’s passing in 1975, she was even stronger and more independent than ever.  Marilyn knew how to do everything from gardening to handy work.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting, donating much of it to those in need, including masks for COVID, scarves and hats to cancer patients, and so much more.  Marilyn also volunteered for many organizations, including Menasha High School, St. John’s Catholic Church, and the Girl Scouts to name a few.  She deeply enjoyed getting away to Sims Lake with her family and friends as often as she could.  Marilyn loved all the family pets, especially Faith and Hope.  Above all, Marilyn loved her family and cherished every moment she spent with her kids and grandkids.  

Marilyn will be missed by her children, Melanie (John), Marla (Kent), and Michael (Katie); her grandchildren, Madeline (Jordan), Samuel (Maya), Sophia, and Christina; her special niece, Suzie; as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.  

Marilyn rejoins her beloved husband, Melvin; her parents, Paul and Madeline; and Melvin’s siblings and family.

A funeral visitation will be held for Marilyn on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 2nd St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.  Marilyn will be laid to rest beside her husband, Melvin following the service at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Menasha.  

Marilyn’s family would like to extend a special thanks to her Menasha Senior Center community, her neighbors, her Girl Scout group, her extended family and the families of her children’s spouses, and her special friends near and far, especially Kay Rorabeck.   Also, a huge thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at ThedaCare Hospital in Appleton and the staff at Moments Hospice for their care and compassion during her times of need.  

Thank you, Mom and Dad, for making us a family.  We know that you will continue to watch over us all.
