Marilyn Bernice Williamson

Marilyn B. Williamson, 97, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Gardenview Assisted Living, Menasha. She was born on December 12, 1923, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Norman and Hattie (Bejma) Hansen. Mom will be remembered most as a mom; she was a true matriarch of the family, loving, caring, selfless and devoted. Many others even came to know her as mom over the years because of her nurturing instincts. Marilyn had a great dry sense of humor, a quiet demeanor, independent personality, and a gentle nature. Marilyn was united in marriage to Francis “Fran” Williamson on May 10, 1952, at Holy Rosary Church, Milwaukee, and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2003. Going for car rides and getting a good cup of coffee together were a favorite pastime of theirs. She and Fran, the love of her life, enjoyed attending and being actively involved in all of their children’s and grandchildren’s activities over the years. Marilyn also enjoyed walking to the bakery or grocery store, gardening, doing yardwork, and mowing her lawn.

Marilyn is survived by her 3 sons: Mark (Lynn), Paul (Voni), and Jim Williamson; 6 grandchildren: Hayley (Scott), Frank (Christine), Roxanne (Aaron), Erin (TJ), Sarah (Tyler), and Marilee; 9 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Patricia Hansen; extended family members and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and husband: Francis Williamson; an infant daughter: Ann Williamson; and a brother: Norman Hansen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass.

Marilyn’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Gardenview Assisted Living, Compassus Hospice, and longtime family friend and caregiver, Mary Witmer.
