Peters, Marianne E.

Marianne E. Peters, age 80, of Appleton, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 25, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born November 24, 1928, to the late Reuben and Frances (Nadolny) Vogel, in Menasha and had been an Appleton resident for the last 58 years. Marianne attended the University of Wisconsin and had been employed by Wisconsin Bell for 33 years. She enjoyed home decorating and crafts. Marianne was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Gordy L. Peters, to whom she had been married for 59 years; two daughters, Kathleen (Michael) Schommer, Appleton; Ardyce Peters, Wauwatosa; a granddaughter, Sara (Neil) Brandon, Appleton; two great granddaughters, Athena and Ella Brandon; a sister, Janet Halverson, Desert Hot Springs, CA; two brothers, Allen “Tony” (Joyce) Vogel, Wausau, WI; William (Marliese) Vogel, Plover, WI; her special friend and caregiver, Cathy Clark; her special friend, Mary Vij; close friend and earthly guardian angel, Ruth Captain; special feline companion, Coco; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and special friends from Lake Poygan. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Vogel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am, Thursday, April 30, 2009, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, with Father Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am Thursday until the time of the Mass. A memorial fund is being established for the American Lung Association.
