Margaret Gocker, 90, Kimberly, WI, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 25, 1934, to Andrew and Elaine (Antonopoulos) Papacosta.
Margaret was born and raised in Beaver Dam and graduated high school from Beaver Dam High School. Shortly after, she went to UW Whitewater to get her degree in teaching. She married her high school sweetheart Phillip Gocker when she graduated from college and went on to teach at Holy Name Catholic School for 35 years in Kimberly, WI.
Margaret enjoyed quilting and sewing, along with her crossword puzzles. She was a talented seamstress to the point that she made her own wedding dress.
Margaret is survived by her children; Paul (Angie) Gocker, Mark (Amy) Gocker, John (Sandy) Gocker, grandchildren; Samuel (Jaime) Gocker, Rachel (Josh) Tysver, Samantha Hawkinson, Ryan Hawkinson, Phillip (Leah) Gocker, Laura (Travis) Meyer, Michael Gocker, Claire Gocker, Andrea (Cody) Nelson, Nicole (Brad) Hansel, and Ben Gocker; along with Sister-in-laws; Shirley Miller, Jeannie Gocker (Steve Sapontsis), Claire Gocker, Mary (Tim Verberkmoes); as well as many great grand-children and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Phillip, brother Gus (Rosemary) Papacosta, and sister Irene (John) Bergman; father and mother-in-law Lawrence (Gertrude) Gocker; brother in laws Lawrence Gocker and Peter Gocker.
Services will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 600 East Kimberly Ave, Kimberly WI, 54136. Visitation will be from 9am-11am, Catholic mass starts at 11am, followed by committal service.
