Margaret "Maggie" Bootz

September 20, 1943 — December 27, 2023

Appleton

Margaret “Maggie” Bootz, age 80, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at home on December 27, 2023. She attended St. Therese primary school and graduated from Appleton High School in 1961. Maggie worked a variety of jobs throughout the years, working as a secretary for CW trucking, a certified nursing assistant at PRN nursing service and retail work at Sentry Foods and Heartland. Maggie joined in marriage to Tom Bootz on November 1, 1985 in Appleton. Tom and Maggie went to breakfast nearly every day at the Seven Angels next to their favorite slot machine. Tom and Maggie also enjoyed numerous trips to local casinos and restaurants with family and friends.

Maggie loved to stay active. She enjoyed baking, bonfires, visiting family and having lunch with friends. Many memories were made with her daughters as they scrapbooked together, shopped, and attended wine tastings in Door County. Maggie was fiercely devoted to her family. She lovingly cared for Tom throughout his illness while still finding time to spoil her grandchildren rotten.

Maggie is survived by her children: Jeff (Beth) Saunders, Debbie (Bob) Hintz, and Terry (Paul) Gruett, as well as Tom’s children, Randy (Julie) Bootz, David (Tina) Bootz, and Vicki (Jeff) Mayer: her grandchildren: Abby (Aaron) Anderson, Bryn (Eric) Saunders, Paige (Ben) Hui, Chad (Robbyn) Stanley, Tony (Katie) Stanley, Kayla (Nate) Fink, Mitchell Hintz, including Tom’s grandchildren: Jenny (Chad) Henson, Kayleigh (Trevor) Mayer, Kyle (Danielle) Mayer: and great grandchildren: Chayse, Willow, Chris, Alex, Bennett, Layne, Baby Boy Anderson on the way, and Aria.

Maggie is further survived by her brothers: Ken (Pat) Nemecek, Bob (Bonny) Nemecek, and their families, and brother-in-law: Darryl Erdmann, as well as other family and friends, and her favorite grand dog: Chloe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, and her sister Janice Erdmann.

Maggie’s family would like to thank, Thedacare at Home staff, Rennes Nursing staff, and Right at Home caregivers: Mandi and Danielle.

It was Maggie’s request to have a private family service and to be laid to rest next to Tom at St. John’s Cemetery in Little Chute.
