Margaret A. Balza, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2012 with her family by her side. Marge was born on November 20, 1935 in Appleton, daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Lancer) Hollenback. In 1966, Marge was married to Robert Balza; he preceded her in death in 2001. Marge was a longtime and very active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton and her faith was an extremely important part of her life. She loved caring for and spending time with her family. Marge also was an avid Packer fan and reader, loved quilting, and was a volunteer at the Clothes Closet.
Marge is survived by her three sons, Greg Balza, and his children, Brittani, Dylan, Delaney, and Owen; Keith (Marcella) Balza, and their son, Alex; and Chris (Aundrea) Balza; two sisters, Doleres (Joe) Schmidt and Betty (Bob) Hickenbotham; and a sister-in-law, Genevieve “Jen” Hollenback. She was further preceded in death by two brothers, Francis (Mildred) Hollenback and Jerome Hollenback; and two sisters Jean (Stanley “Red”) Falk, and Marie (Leroy) Heimmerman.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marge will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont, Appleton with Fr. Andrew Kurz officiating. Friends may call on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marge's name may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
